Overview

West Space is a branding project for West Space Art Gallery in Melbourne — an experimental, artist-led platform dedicated to showcasing diverse and evolving creative practices. The gallery supports the development, exhibition, and contextualisation of contemporary art across disciplines.

Key Contributions

  • I developed the brand identity and visual direction to reflect the gallery’s dynamic and ever-changing nature. The concept captures the fluidity of artistic expression, positioning West Space as an open, adaptable environment that embraces experimentation and inclusivity.

Challenges

  • The main challenge was to design a brand system that could evolve alongside the gallery’s constantly shifting exhibitions and artists, while maintaining visual coherence and recognition.

Outcomes

  • The new branding presents West Space as a flexible, forward-thinking art space — one that celebrates change, creativity, and the multiplicity of artistic voices in Melbourne’s contemporary art scene.
